Children's Ministries

For The Children

Nursery
Our pre-kindergarten nursery is open for all Sunday morning events and is provided by reservation for all on-site meetings. It is of primary importance that the child care we offer be of the highest caliber.

Worship
A special time is set apart during the 8:45 and 11 am worship services for our children to meet the pastor at the altar for a lesson or story.

Children’s Church
At the 11 am Worship After their special time in worship, children are invited to go to a classroom with children’s church leaders for an activity designed for their age-level.

Sunday School
Sundays, 9:45 am
Gifted teachers lead Sunday School classes for all ages: nursery through 5th grade, as well as junior and senior high. Teachers use Bible centered Cokesbury curricula published by the United Methodist Church and participate in regular training opportunities.

The Raynebow Kids' Club
A special group for children pre-K through 5th grade enjoy swim parties in the summer and other activities throughout the year.

Acolytes
Elementary aged children may participate in this important ministry in worship. Annual training is provided for those who will assist at the altar during the candle lighting, the offering, and Holy Communion.

Vacation Bible School
This is one of the high points of the year! Don’t miss this special summer event in the life of our church and its children!

Confirmation
Each year, those who are in the 5-7th grades may participate in weekly Confirmation Classes which begin after Easter and end the week before Pentecost Sunday, the day on which confirmands are received into the church and honored at a special reception following worship.

Rayne Early Childhood Program
One of the best in the city, our pre-school strives for quality child care in a loving Christian environment.
