Adult Sunday School Classes

Coffee and light refreshments are served at 9:30 a.m. prior to Sunday School and all are invited to come!

Friends Class

This class, open to all, engages in Bible study and discussion using Methodist Sunday School curriculum. The Friends Class meets at 9:45 am in the Parlor.

Gratitude Class

This class, open to adults of all ages, shares leadership for Bible and book studies with open discussions of contemporary theological issues. Their regular used book sales raise funds for special church projects. The Gratitude Class meets at 9:45 am in the Brides’ Room next to the Chapel.

One in the Spirit Class

Linda Miller, Jan and Mark Bugg provide the leadership for this mixed group of mature “pairs and spares.” The One in the Spirit Class meets at 9:45 am upstairs in the Bynum Children’s Building.

Agapé Class

This class, convened by Rich Foster and open to all, engages in thorough and thoughtful discussion of scripture and theology. The Agapé Class meets at 10:00 am in the balcony of the Hannah Chapel.

Wilderness Class

This class engages some of the most cutting edge and controversial ideas and innovations in Christianity and what our faith has to say about the challenging global crises we face today as Christians. The Wilderness Class meets for coffee at 9:45 am and the class begins at 10:00 am on the 2nd floor of the Bynum Children’s Building.

Young Adult Class

The Young Adult Class meets at 9:45 am in the church office for the School for Contemplative Living. Members of this class determine Bible and book studies for the focus of their study.

On Campus

Campus Minister, Max Zehner, meets with students at the Wesley Foundation on the Tulane Campus each Sunday night at 6 pm. A free supper provided by churches in the area is served afterwards. Visit the Wesley website for more information about college Bible studies and small groups.

Children’s Sunday School

Gifted teachers lead classes for our children on Sundays at 9:45am. Children begin the morning with songs led by Barbara Gay Rigney. Teachers use the graded Bible-centered Cokesbury curriculum published by the United Methodist Church.

Youth Sunday School Class

There are Sunday School classes for Junior High and Senior High Youth. They meet in the Junior High Room and Senior High Youth Rooms on the 2nd Floor on Sundays at 9:45am.
